Timanfaya Lanzarote

Timanfaya Lanzarote La Monta? As del Fuego (Fire Mountains), on their own behalf are included in 1730, when more than 100 volcanoes National Park today, have risen up to destroy the southe islands'. Eruptions lasted six years and many villages were completely destroyed. The last eruption was in 1824 the island. As such Lanzarote has low rainfall (and thus a lack of erosion), the area looks much as it did with the time and in 1968 the area became a national park 'Parque Nacional de Timanfaya. We decided that a full day of this trip, and we are firmly convinced that this man must for any visitor to the island because of its unique 'Martian' landscape and rare plant species. Upon entering the national park (entrance at about 8 euros per person, as I remember, and that children were as usual in many attractions of the islands), the first thing to catch our eyes were camels and, of course, we had to stop because the children wanted a tu! An hour or so later, we arrived at the parking lot of Islotes de Hilario, where we saw a lot of people standing around a hole. This should be the first of two very impressive demonstration of how the heat is just under the ground. We were told that the temperature just a few meters under the ground are a staggering 400? C to 600? C. Chemistry shrubs were in a hole and in less than a minute, it caught fire! The water was in a well and then second the water back into the air as vapor, and we all have a hot shower, because we were on the wrong side. Next was "El Diablo 'restaurant, another body of the famous artist (Cesar Manrique), whose influence is everywhere on the island. Here we find the traditional Canarian food cooked using geothermal heat (A cast iron grill, a large hole in the ground). If the rest of the world can enjoy your meal cooked on a volcano! We have then a bus from the National Park (part of entry). If you feel a bit 'uncomfortable or not like heights do not sit near the window, because it can be very frightening (and very safe, but the children were absolutely thrilled). The bus stops at various strategic points in order to achieve amazing photos and film (so do not forget to take the camera / video with you). During the jouey, we recorded the narration with the words of the priest of Yaiza the time of the eruptions. Another great day and a further attraction.
